In a hot desert climate, pampering is a priority – and spas are a way of life in Riyadh. Whether you’re looking for a full day of R&R or an express nail service, here’s where you should be going…

Treat Salon

Treat was founded by Yara Alnamlah – one of the stars of the first Leading Ladies of the Middle East series. Her salon offers everything from classic, understated manicures to playful nail art, hair treatments, curls, cuts, blow dries and beachy waves. The pampering doesn’t stop there – stick around for a matcha and enjoy the boho interiors designed by her mother.

Kerastase Hair & Scalp Spa

Haircare favourite Kerastase has a salon in U Walk where potentially mundane cuts, colours and treatments are turned into pampering experiences – we’ve enjoyed the Anti Hair Fall treatment and a Scalp & Hair Detox, as well as colour changes and curl protection sessions. Ask for Hollie – her energy and enthusiasm are only matched by her experience and creativity.

4Spa

The calming interiors of 4Spa’s four Riyadh branches help make them some of the city’s prettiest salons. Choose which of its AQIQ, the DQ, KAFD and Takhassusi locations suits your needs best, then settle in for nail or lash services, a massage, waxing or some reflexology. Personal experience tells us you can expect some lovely little touches throughout.

Treat | Al Faisaliah Spa by ESPA

Al Faisaliah Spa by ESPA

Even a full day at the ESPA spa within the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah might not feel like enough. The region’s first women’s spa spreads across four floors of treatment rooms with Swarovski crystal-embellished walls and relaxation pods hung with meditative crystals. There’s also a pool, hammam and massage options – and everything’s delivered with ESPA’s world-renowned products.

The Spa | Nail Shop

The Spa | Nail Shop offers luxe hammam rituals, facials, manicures and pedicures – and they all start with a welcome mocktail. Afterwards, there’s a relaxation room to slowly reset in. Or you can try hot and cold therapy and a unique Nuvola massage bed. If it’s nail art you’re interested in, ask for Hiba at the Kingdom branch. Memberships offer genuine value, so it’s worth asking about them too.

The Arabian hospitality is real at both Plush Nail Boutiques in As Sulimaniyah and Al Takhassusi, where you can enjoy tailored treatments in a spa-like setting. As well as a comprehensive range of nail treatments, the As Sulimaniyah branch offers hair treatments and therapeutic massages.

N.Lashes

N.Lashes isn’t just about eyelashes. It offers nail treatments and nail art too – and it might be useful to know the House of Glam hair salon sits just above its Riyadh salon. Alongside the warm and welcoming service, helping N.Lashes to stand out are its unique ‘lash nap’ rooms for anyone enjoying its eyelash extensions, lash lifts or eyebrow shaping.
